I just want to say I hate winter in minnesota! When the snow starts falling and the temp. drops all I want to do is curl up in sweats with a huge fluffy blanket and warm hot chocolate! I’m so bad at driving in snow, I sometimes make other people drive me around just cause I’m so nervous I’ll plow into someone or something! I hate that feeling when it’s so cold that it hurts to breath and your skin aches from the bitterness! I love Minnesota but every year around this time I ask myself “why do I live here?”  By the way Jen completely agrees!!

Every year I go shopping the day after Thanksgiving; this year was Nuts! The deals were great and the people were as crazy as ever! The tvs were a huge deal, walmart had tvs on sales for just a couple hundred dollars. I was running to the $2 dvds when out of no where two not so little men came charging towards me on their way to the cheap tvs; I ended up flat on my butt in the middle of walmrt’s floor!  But on the positive side I found the cutest leather jacket at Kohl’s for only $25 orginally $180!  When the day was done I had almost all my chirstmas shopping done, bought a few items for myself and spent just under $100! It was totally worth getting up at 3am, waiting in freezing weather and getting pushed all around, I can’t wait till next year to do it all over again!  For Those of you that don’t go shopping on black Friday, you are missing out on all the fun and you could save a ton of money on christmas!!

First Financial USA received top honors this week for Best Places to Work 2008 in the Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal. FFUSA is honored to not only be first place in the small business category, but it’s also their first time in the contest!

The contest determines winners through many avenues: employee surveys, interviews, and a visit to the company itself. The employees at the FFUSA have long known this is a great place to be and are now excited to be able to share that with other folks from Twin Cities. As the company continues to grow and add new employees, the existing employees all have one thing to say to the new comers: You’ll love it here and you won’t want to leave!

The team understands the balance between work and play. They all enjoy the challenges of their jobs and they all know that what each person does contributes directly to the growth of the company. But everyone also knows that there are times to stop and have a good time too. Whether the company orders lunch for everyone, or the employees rally together for a grill-out, it is time to take a break and have fun. It also isn’t a rare occasion when two people stop at the foosball table in the middle of the day for a quick game of First to Score a Goal before getting back to work again.

Every day the entire team focuses on hitting their goals, but they also know they are under strict instruction to have fun getting there!
